2014 lambing update

2014 lambing update April 10 2014

April 8th, 2014
Hurrah! We have finished lambing. We have just had our final set of twins and about two hours before had some triplets. They are all very pretty and doing really well. Let normal life resume!

Well, these sheep do give us the run-around! In the middle of the night I could have been spotted chasing sheep around in my 'onesie' and wellies! Two more ewes now safely in the pens, and we are hoping that it all happens very soon...

...I popped in for a quick cup of tea and look what we found 15 minutes later, triplets! Lambs and mum doing brilliantly.

My current location. Hiding behind a wall which has a nutty ewe round the corner! Fingers crossed she lambs soon!

Finally another ewe has had a couple of lovely ram lambs. Both came without any intervention from us. Now we are willing the rest of the ladies on!

It's a bit nippy tonight!

2014 lambing has just commenced. We weren't sure if the first sheep was having twins or triplets, and were delighted when two girls and a boy arrived. All were up quicly and feeding well, doing brilliantly. Sleep deprived nights now start!

We need the weather to brighten up before March/April when we start lambing. It’s no fun being outdoors at 2am when it is raining and generally freezing cold. New waterproofs have been bought so we will at least keep dry and hopefully a little warm when the time comes!
